Retraction procedure

The retraction policy is based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

A retraction is a procedure for amending the scientific record and formally informing readers that the published material contains significant flaws or unreliable data that cannot be trusted. Such flaws can be the result of both unintentional errors and deliberate violations of the principles of academic integrity.

A retraction is used to report cases of repeated publication of the same material in different publications, the detection of plagiarism or a hidden conflict of interest that could affect the interpretation of the results or recommendations for their use. The main purpose of this procedure is to ensure the reliability and integrity of scientific information published in the journal.

The grounds for retraction are violations of the journal's ethical standards, in particular, the establishment of a significant amount of illegal borrowing, duplication of publication, facts of fabrication or falsification of data, the presence of serious errors, including incorrect interpretation of results, which casts doubt on the scientific value of the work, violation of authorship criteria, hidden conflict of interest, reprinting of the article without the author's consent, or other violations of publication ethics.

The retraction procedure may be initiated by a written application of the author or the author's team or by a submission of the editor-in-chief. The decision to retraction is made by the editorial board on the basis of a reasoned submission indicating the relevant grounds. When making a decision, the author's position is taken into account if he has provided written explanations.

In the event that the initiative comes from the author or the author's team, they submit a motivated application to the editorial office with an explanation of the reasons. If there are sufficient grounds, the editorial office carries out the retraction procedure.

The decision to retraction is formalized in the minutes of the editorial board meeting. After its approval, the editorial board indicates the reason for the retraction, and in case of plagiarism, with a reference to the source of borrowing, and determines the date of retraction. The article is stored on the official website of the journal as part of the relevant issue to ensure the transparency of the scientific archive, however, the electronic version is marked with the inscription “WITHDRAWN” with the date. The same mark is placed in the table of contents of the relevant issue.

The author or the responsible author in the case of collective authorship is sent an extract from the minutes of the editorial board meeting with a justification for the reasons for the retraction. At the same time, the editorial board may decide to temporarily restrict the acceptance of materials from the author of the retracted article for consideration. Information about the retraction is published on the journal website.
